News

Wednesday training was originally biweekly, but our great pace leaders have contributed their time to make it WEEKLY training.

Pace leaders are holding informal group runs on all weeks we don't have an official group run. The big difference: bring your own water to the informal ones!

Pictures and Info About the Program Kickoff June 23

Overview

The Dallas Running Club (DRC) is offering a free half marathon training program to help prepare runners and walkers to complete the 2007 DRC Half Marathon on November 4.  The program is designed to help new and veteran runners complete the half marathon distance in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere.  The primary goal of this program is to motivate and encourage runners to complete the training and distance runs to get them to the starting line injury-free, and help them finish a half-marathon.  Group runs help participants stay accountable to their program.

This training program is free to anyone who signs up for the DRC Half Marathon on November 4 and is or becomes a member of the Dallas Running Club.  This program is open to walkers, those that want to alternate walking and running intervals, and runners.  The training program schedule includes an extended 5 weeks to help participants stay active and complete two half marathons in two months by also running the Dallas White Rock Half-Marathon on December 9.

Special thanks to Nikki Davis, Christine Glaze, Don Vanslyke, and David Bintz for their help in making this program possible!

Program Benefits

Participants will receive benefits like a full 25-week training schedule, biweekly Saturday runs, biweekly Wednesday night hill training, an orientation packet, and several other benefits. See the full list of program benefits here...
