Summer 2010

Bridge to Fall Program

To fill the void between spring and fall distance training programs, we offer the bridge program over the summer. The intent of the bridge program is to give runners an opportunity to keep the base mileage up in a fun, social, non-competitive atmosphere during those hot summer months when everyone could use a little motivation.

Unlike the spring and fall distance programs, the bridge program does not provide structured coaching and pace leading. While there will be oversight, the format is much more free flowing. Because of this, the bridge program is not recommended for beginning runners. This program is best suited for those who have been training 20 or more miles/week.

The program begins on May 19 and runs through July 10 (8 weeks). There is no orientation for this program. To register, click here.

Fall 2010

Half and Full Marathon Program

The fall is a great time to ramp up mileage and train for longer races. We offer structured programs for either the half or full marathon. The program runs from mid July through early December. Group training runs are on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Training plans are provided by RRCA certified coaches. Training advice and pacing will be provided by our experienced training team.

The training program includes the monthly club races and our signature race, the DRC Half Marathon. Whether you are trying to qualify for Boston or finish your first half marathon, our program will offer an environment that will help you reach your goals. The marathon program is best suited for those who have been training 20 or more miles/week. The half marathon program is best suited for those who have been training 10 or more miles/week. Walkers are welcome. Registration coming soon.

Couch to Half Marathon Program

Are you ready to take on a challenge that can change your life forever? Have you been sitting on the sidelines just waiting for the right time to get up and do something you will never forget? Come join our couch to half marathon program and we will work with you to make it happen. The couch program offers training to new runners and walkers in a non-threatening environment aimed to get them safely to the starting line of a half marathon in less than 6 months.

As part of the program, you will learn from our experienced team about proper form, increasing strength and balance to reduce injuries and a host of other running/walking related topics. There will also be a 5 mile race at the halfway point to give participants a good way to gauge their progress.
