Paula Robertson lives in Coppell, Texas and is employed by a major telecommunications company as a Supervisor in the Finance Division. At the age of 36, Paula was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Her doctors suggested that she begin a regular exercise program that would hopefully delay the progression of her disease. One doctor even suggested that she would "probably never run a marathon or anything" as he assured her that she could lead a "fairly normal life." Wow, did he have a surprise in store!
Paula immediately made a commitment to begin a healthier lifestyle, including exercise, diet modification, and stress management. She joined Team in Training and began training for her first marathon. On June 4, 2000, Paula had the pleasure of notifying her doctor that she had successfully completed her first marathon. (That's 26.2 miles!)
Having never run nor jogged
a mile in her life before this life changing
series of events, Paula proved to her friends
and family that ANYTHING is possible. (Wouldn't
you have enjoyed seeing the expression on her
doctor's face?) But, more importantly, she proved
this valuable lesson to herself. Since completing
her first marathon, she has entered and finished
NINE additional marathons, 2 half-marathons,
and 11 other events, including the Dallas Avon
3 Day Walk and a du-athalon. She serves on the
Board of Directors for the Dallas Running Club
and is the Co-Program Director for the Jeff
Galloway Marathon Training Program in 2003.

Although Paula considers herself a "non-athlete", she has proven that setting goals, even BIG goals, and that achieving those goals is not only possible, but also more rewarding than anyone could imagine. Along this challenging journey, Paula quickly realized the importance of "people helping people" in conquering great challenges. So, she founded FIT FOR 52 in December of 2001 with the goal of providing a "virtual" fitness program that ANYONE could enjoy.
