Current Training Program: Spring Beginner Program | Spring 2012 Training Program

Spring Training Program

The beginner program lasts 12 weeks and includes an entry to the Tal Morrison 5k race. The 10-miles, half and full marathon programs last 16 weeks. The 10 mile group will be training for the DRC White Rock 'n Roll 10 mile race in early May.  The half and full groups will be training for a variety of races including Oklahoma City, Country Music, Big D, Boston and the Dallas Rock n' Roll Half.  Additionally, those runners planning to run other races earlier in the spring will have the opportunity to join our groups and add additional mileage as needed to prepare for their particular goal race(s).  Find out more information about the beginner program and the 10-miles, half and full marathon programs.

Summer Training Program

For our summer program, also known as "the bridge", we offer a basic option for those just looking to keep or build a decent fitness level during the hot summer months and an advanced option for those looking for more mileage and challenging workouts, including some trail running. Our summer program is more relaxed than our spring and fall programs.  We have a great time and offer you motivation and accountability to get through the Texas summer at a cost.  The program lasts 8 weeks.

Fall Training Program

The beginner program lasts 12 weeks and includes entry to the DRC November 5K.  The half and full marathon programs last 20 weeks and the DRC Half can be included for a great bundle price. The primary goal races for the training program will be the DRC Half Marathon & 5K in November and the White Rock Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay in December.  Additionally, those runners planning to run other races in the fall will have the opportunity to join our groups and add additional mileage as needed to prepare for their particular goal race(s). We recommend all non-beginner fall training program participants run in the DRC July club race, the DRC Independence 5K/10K.  This race will serve as a time trial to give us a baseline for determining your most effective training pace.  Half marathoners may run the 5K or 10k.  Marathoners should run the 10K.  As a club race, it is free to all active members.
